Fun, but is it worth it...? : The Sphere Floating Habitat
I purchased one of these for my daughter (5) and my nephew (9) to play with in our pool this summer and from the minuscule we blew it up, they have not left it alone. They are in and out all day long, and have devised a bunch of separate games with it including hide and seek, basketball, using it as a pirate ship, etc. I can't believe how much they love and use this pool toy.
On each end of the sphere is a hole so the kids can absolutely climb in and out from either under the water or from the top of the sphere. My 9 year old nephew is quite tall and big for his age and he has no problem getting in and out. The float has been fairly durable considering the whole of use it's getting (constant rolling, kids in and out, lots of pulling and climbing on it), but one of the inflatable rings on one of the entries has began to detach from the rest of the float. It has not, however, leaked any air- so as long as the thing stays inflated, the kids are thrilled.
I can't propose this enough. One caution: it's Big- right on not good for a small pool or splash pool. But if you have a fairly large pool, it's a great expanding to your arsenal of pool toys for the summer!
